Winter Speaker Series New Mexico: Land of Enchantment starting at 2:30 p.m. with speaker Tom Hissong, Aullwoods Education Coordinator. Tom will present a colorful PowerPoint program on his two weeks of exploration and being enchanted in New Mexico. This exciting adventure will lead viewers to experience Bighorn Sheep in the mountains north of Taos, to be thrilled by the rich golden-yellow color of the autumn Cottonwoods, to marvel at the abundance of Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes at Bosque del Apache and to study the antics of Common Ravens found almost everywhere. The journey will view beautiful landscapes and learn about the native peoples who have lived in this area for over 1,000 years. Toms program will take us to several active pueblos including Taos Pueblo and Acoma Pueblo. Several archaeological sites including Bandelier National Monument, Petroglyph National Monument and Chao Culture National Historical Park will be visited. Learn how the people living in New Mexico today are working to protect and conserve the rich natural resources of this beautiful place. Call (937) 890-7360 for more information.
