By denouncing perfection and embracing quirks, I both find and make my objects. I chose materials that are tactile and visceral, processes that are open ended. Both deliberate choices and spontaneity bring these objects to life. A wayward thread, a runaway glob of solder or the bleed of rust suggests a history in each of the pieces. I find beauty and worth in their mistakes, am fascinated by their unplanned forms, discrepancies in surface, and subtle faults.
