Oxford, OH, February 14, 2013 - As a part of Macy's Arts Sampler, ArtsWave will be bringing a combination of interactive visual arts and live music to the Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) on Saturday, March 2nd. Free for everyone, this exposition features the various talents of Jonathan Heart, an origami expert and comedian; as well as the musical talents of the Clark and Jones Trio. The Arts Sampler's free, fun and creative activities are also being hosted in other venues in and around Cincinnati on this date and also on April 13th. In Oxford Jonathan Heart's origami, stand-up comedy show begins at 2 pm. Join Heart in the OCAC's North Parlor to witness the ancient Japanese art of paper folding done with a game show-styled twist. Described as "origami meets the Price is Right" by Cincinnati offbeat, Heart's comedic performance is designed to keep the whole family entertained. "Many people think of origami as a quiet art form," says Heart. "What I do is turn it into a party. It's so much fun; people don't realize at the end that they've just had an art lesson." This Sampler event continues with the Clark and Jones Trio in the Ballroom at 4:15pm. The trio, formed in 2003, has performed (and taught) across the nation at venues such as the Cincinnati Celtic Festival, Irish Festival in Dublin, OH, the Scottish Games in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Spanish Peaks Celtic International Music Festival in LaVeta, Colorado. Performing international music, the Trio plays a variety of instruments including the Celtic harp, fiddle, and bodhran, recorder, Appalachian dulcimer and guitar. These artists are just a few examples of the ArtsWave's vast pool of creative talent offered to the public free of charge during Macy's Arts Sampler. By bringing events like this to venues such as the Oxford Community Arts Center, ArtsWave helps create the kind of thriving arts environment that makes the Cincinnati region a better place to live, work, and play. The Oxford Community Arts Center is located at 10 S. College Avenue, in Oxford, Ohio.
