TACOMA, Wash. —

Police said a Tacoma man was so angered that his wife signed for the ashes of his dead father that he held a gun to her head.

Tacoma police said a fight ensued after the man’s wife signed for the ashes UPS delivered to their home in the 6500 block of 25th Street Northeast.

After the man held a loaded gun to his wife’s head Tuesday night, she was able to escape from the home and call for help, investigators said.

Police were able to convince the man to come out of the house after a few minutes and he was taken into custody.

Officers said they retrieved the handgun and several other firearms from the home.

The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail on charges of first-degree domestic violence assault.
